Michael Lau (NSW 7976) brings over 23 years of experience in architecture and interior design, encompassing detailed design, documentation, and construction-phase advisory. His portfolio spans diverse sectors including education, high-end, medium-density and single-dwelling residential, industrial, sports and recreation, automotive showrooms, transport, hospitality, and commercial developments.

With strong design sensitivity and a comprehensive understanding of project regulations, Michael delivers compliant, well-resolved design solutions tailored to a range of budgets. He is equally adept at leading projects or collaborating seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams.

A foremost CAD specialist, Michael excels in communicating design intent through computer-generated visuals, graphics, and precise project documentation.

Carolyn Meddick (NSW 8099) is a registered architect with over 23 years of experience spanning residential, early learning, education, tertiary, and commercial projects. She brings a thoughtful and collaborative approach to every stage of the design process, from pre-design and master planning through to documentation and project delivery.

With extensive experience leading project teams on developments up to $25 million, Carolyn is skilled at navigating complex stakeholder needs and ensuring each project’s vision is carried through to completion. She has a particular passion for educational design, creating environments that inspire learning and support innovative teaching frameworks.

Carolyn’s strengths include master planning, feasibility and space planning, project management, and contract administration. Above all, she is dedicated to working closely with clients to deliver meaningful, high-quality outcomes that enrich the communities they serve.

Bernard is a highly experienced designer (UK registered since 2011). He has worked on a diverse range of large-scale projects, including education, retail, commercial, transport and master planning. His expertise extends to theatre, film, and television projects. Bernard has advanced REVIT skills and has been involved in large-scale bid submissions.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with major stakeholders such as GPT, Transport for New South Wales, School Infrastructure New South Wales and Sydney Catholic Schools. He has extensive experience across various project stages, including consultant management, feasibility and concept design, design development, tender & construction documentation, complex project phasing and project delivery. He is also skilled in client & community engagement with particular interest in Connecting with Country.

Janja has over 30 years-experience in interior design, brand strategy and implementation across a broad range of projects for corporate, education, retail, hospitality and residential clients. She was Associate Director at two respected design practices, before branching out on her own in 2005. She has collaborated with the team at Wetherill Architects extensively prior to joining the practice in 2023.

Janja’s design philosophy is to understand and appreciate each client’s business needs in order to provide intuitive, nuanced solutions that are tailored to each project’s unique requirements and ultimately provide an environment that engages the user.

She enjoys long term associations with many clients who appreciate her professionalism and thorough, dedicated and collaborative approach to their evolving needs.

Prior to joining Wetherill Architects, Tiffany worked for RHWL Architects in London for 10 years as an Associate Director within the firm.

Tiffany brings a diverse set of skills across a wide range of project typologies and scales, from inception to completion. Tiffany has notable expertise in the early stages of projects in developing and recording briefs. She has a strong record of producing thorough designs which fully address the potential complexities of development applications. Tiffany is a problem solver with outstanding communication skills.

Tiffany has the ability to ask the right briefing questions, listen in detail and document the responses in a succinct manner which is crucial to the success of any project. She brings a detailed, thoughtful approach to architectural design resulting in excellent outcomes.

Alex Ermolenko has over 25 years of experience in architecture and interior design, with a strong focus on delivering practical, buildable solutions across residential, commercial, hospitality, and community projects. He combines design sensitivity with extensive construction knowledge to ensure projects are both feasible and high quality.

Alex has contributed to a wide range of developments, including single dwellings, medium-density residential projects, commercial fitouts, and mixed-use buildings. He excels in contract administration, detailing, and coordinating with contractors, ensuring that designs are executed accurately and efficiently.

A collaborative and adaptable professional, Alex works seamlessly with project teams and stakeholders, providing practical guidance throughout the design and construction process. His approach prioritizes functional, compliant, and well-executed outcomes that meet client objectives and maintain high design standards.

With over 10 years of experience, Jordan Murray (NSW 12619) has worked extensively across education and master planning projects, supported by a diverse portfolio that includes Health, Commercial, Retail, Mixed Use, and Defence. His experience spans all stages of design, from early feasibility and concept development through to construction delivery and BIM coordination.

Known for his problem-solving mindset and confident, can-do approach, Jordan excels at unlocking site potential during master planning and translating ideas into practical, well-coordinated outcomes on site. He brings clarity to complex challenges and is driven by delivering thoughtful, efficient solutions that balance design intent with construction realities.

Elly has extensive experience across multiple sectors. With strong expertise in BIM and Revit, she specialises in coordinated design, detailed documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Detail-oriented and proactive, Elly integrates seamlessly within design teams to streamline project delivery through technology-driven workflows. Her collaborative approach ensures clarity, consistency, and high-quality outcomes for clients and stakeholders. Passionate about innovation, she also explores AI-powered tools to enhance efficiency and communication across all project phases.

Since graduating from UNSW in 2020 with a Masters of Architecture with Excellence, Susie has a gained a wide range of experience across the education, sports and recreation, multi-residential and commercial sectors.

Susie has a particular interest in learning environments and purposeful designs that focus on the human experience. She excels in coordinating and collaborating with project teams to ensure design delivery and documentation in an efficient and timely manner. With strong attention to detail, Susie is dedicated to providing high quality outcomes and design excellence with every project.

Ellen is an Architectural Graduate with a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Architecture with Distinction from Victoria University of Wellington. Having recently relocated to Sydney, she is excited to begin her new chapter and contribute to community-driven design.

With strengths in creative thinking and technical documentation, Ellen is passionate about learning through collaboration and new challenges. Ellen is interested in how architecture shapes emotion, behaviour, and connection to place. Her passion lies in creating site-responsive design that strengthens community connection and fosters meaningful relationships between people and their environment. She believes thoughtful design can enhance everyday experiences and contribute positively to the built environment.

Jennifer is our Creative Lead, who manages our brand and leads submissions. She brings diverse experience across bids, branding, marketing, and photography. Jennifer is currently leading the continuation of the studio's rebrand, ensuring Wetherill Architects' story and mission is carried forward with intention and consistency.

She is a creative at heart. With a Computational Design background and years of experience across renowned architecture firms, Jennifer has a deep understanding of the industry that translates into her work.

Jennifer holds a genuine appreciation for the built environment, and the profound ways in which carefully curated spaces help us find the comfort and joy we need in our lives.

Laura has worked with Wetherill Architects since 2018 across a range of roles, including marketing, office management, banking, executive assistance, and submissions coordination. Most recently, she led the development of our new brand.

In 2024, Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture (Distinction) and received a place on the Vice-Chancellor’s List, recognising the top 1% of students across all disciplines. She was also invited to deliver the valedictory address at her graduation.

Laura is passionate about design that responds thoughtfully to its setting; its history, culture, and natural environment, whilst improving the everyday experience of the people who use it. She is drawn to projects that feel grounded and considered, where buildings contribute meaningfully to their surroundings and the communities they serve.

Zampa the "Small to Medium Sized Lagotto" is our resident Barkitect. She has appointed herself Head of Morale, Corridor Patrol and Unscheduled Design Reviewer.

While her formal qualifications remain unverified, she is known for her enthusiastic approach to workplace collaboration. She regularly conducts impromptu meetings, quality checks and ensures nobody enters the studio without an appropriate level of attention.

Her particular areas of expertise include interrupting critical conversations at precisely the wrong moment, followed by strategic napping. Though occasionally disruptive to workflow, Zampa believes strongly in maintaining a healthy work-life balance and can often be found providing emotional support during deadlines... usually in exchange for treats.

Outside of her studio duties, Zampa enjoys barking at absolutely nothing, relocating office items without permission, and making surprise appearances during client calls.

As our self-appointed Barkitect, she continues to bring great energy and questionable professional conduct to the studio!
