Toby Wetherill (NSW 8466) is one of the founding Directors of Wetherill Architects (2003). He offers a wealth of expertise delivering a wide range of projects in Australia as well as internationally.

Toby loves the energy of the design journey: the creative thinking that is the catalyst for innovation. A key component of Toby’s strategy is the pursuit of excellent contemporary design and construction standards within a sustainable framework. Drawing upon his ability to combine materials, proportion, colour, and light, Toby focusses on designing places which are flexible, efficient, enjoyable, and healthy. Spaces that invite connection…. He is a considered communicator who works well with stakeholders to find the appropriate solutions regardless of scale or typology, whilst being highly aware of commercial parameters.

With extensive experience leading project teams on developments up to $25 million, Carolyn is skilled at navigating complex stakeholder needs and ensuring each project’s vision is carried through to completion. She has a particular passion for educational design, creating environments that inspire learning and support innovative teaching frameworks.

Carolyn’s strengths include master planning, feasibility and space planning, project management, and contract administration. Above all, she is dedicated to working closely with clients to deliver meaningful, high-quality outcomes that enrich the communities they serve.

His expertise extends to theatre, film, and television projects. Bernard has advanced REVIT skills and has been involved in large-scale bid submissions.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with major stakeholders such as GPT, Transport for New South Wales, School Infrastructure New South Wales and Sydney Catholic Schools. He has extensive experience across various project stages, including consultant management, feasibility and concept design, design development, tender & construction documentation, complex project phasing and project delivery. He is also skilled in client & community engagement with particular interest in Connecting with Country.

Janja has over 30 years-experience in interior design, brand strategy and implementation across a broad range of projects for corporate, education, retail, hospitality and residential clients. She was Associate Director at two respected design practices, before branching out on her own in 2005. She has collaborated with the team at Wetherill Architects extensively prior to joining the practice in 2023.

Janja’s design philosophy is to understand and appreciate each client’s business needs in order to provide intuitive, nuanced solutions that are tailored to each project’s unique requirements and ultimately provide an environment that engages the user.

She enjoys long term associations with many clients who appreciate her professionalism and thorough, dedicated and collaborative approach to their evolving needs.

She has a strong record of producing thorough designs which fully address the potential complexities of development applications. Tiffany is a problem solver with outstanding communication skills.

Laura has worked with Wetherill Architects since 2018 across a range of roles, including marketing, office management, banking, executive assistance, and submissions coordination. Most recently, she led the development of our new brand.

In 2024, Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture (Distinction) and received a place on the Vice-Chancellor’s List, recognising the top 1% of students across all disciplines. She was also invited to deliver the valedictory address at her graduation.

Laura is passionate about design that responds thoughtfully to its setting; its history, culture, and natural environment, whilst improving the everyday experience of the people who use it. She is drawn to projects that feel grounded and considered, where buildings contribute meaningfully to their surroundings and the communities they serve.
