Project Overview

As the Wallamatta Function Centre neared completion, the Client approached Wetherill Architects to source artworks that would enhance the celebration of the lives of loved ones who have passed. Following an extensive search, we proposed the artist Greg Mallyon be commissioned to prepare four artworks for the public space connecting the function suites.

Greg is a painter of amazing abstract topographical images, inspired by aerial perspectives of the landscape. We asked him if he would prepare works that celebrated some of Australia’s iconic rivers. These rivers are symbolic of our own human existence – the flow and progression, the beginning and the end.
