Project Overview
Veritas marks the first stage in the implementation of the Marist College Canberra Master Plan. Designed as a leading Science and Performing Arts precinct, the architecture thoughtfully integrates elements to support teaching, learning, faith and movement, into a single cohesive built form.
Architecturally, the design expresses grounded simplicity. A variety of textures and tones suggest movement and connection to music and science through wavelengths. The architectural aesthetic adopted is one that ‘grows from the earth’. It has presence and simplicity.
Quietly referencing the Marcellin teaching of ‘The Living Stream’, we conceived a building that encapsulates moments of faith. These moments have been interwoven with environments supporting the industriousness of learning with an outward focus to the surrounding environment.
The building incorporates:
- Science: Wet Laboratories plus ancillary spaces
- Performing Arts: Facilities for dance, drama, ensemble, music including a drama cube
- PDHPE spaces connecting to the ovals
- Changing facilities
- Respectful Staff environments
Honest. Kind. Industrious: VERITAS.
