Project Overview

The design for Woodstock Infants is centred on the School’s learning philosophy that is “…best described as a combination of the elements of Reggio Emilia, child centred teaching and high quality ‘care and nurture’ practice.”

Three existing heritage listed houses were integrated with contemporary ‘new build’ additions, creating a seamless learning environment. The new roof terrace, large internal ‘piazza’ play area and an adjacent ground level terrace created a series of new indoor and outdoor play areas within the campus.

Large operable doors and window areas allow the girls to share their vibrant learning space with the wider school community and encourage opportunities for senior girls to interact with them, as part of Wenona’s inclusive pastoral vision.

…the architects and designers at [Wetherill Architects] have ensured that the final product has delivered the vision of a truly inspirational facility for teaching and learning of Wenona’s youngest of learners.
